Chemical Investigation Services was founded in 2004 in Cape Town, South Africa by Simon Norton a graduate industrial chemist with over 30 years technology and industrial expertise and who is an expert in the fields of industrial lubrication, water testing and corrosion assessment and testing.

Chemical Investigation Services is an INDEPENDENT and OBJECTIVE technical investigation firm that tackles equipment & materials failures, corrosion assessments, design for corrosion, materials selection, corrosion testing of materials and coatings as well as fresh water and cooling water testing and assessment. We are also experts on the selection, application and troubleshooting of industrial lubricating oils and greases for gearboxes, air compressors, turbines, hydraulic packs and wire ropes.
